Motorola has confirmed that the Signature 27 is coming to India this November. Its India website now carries a Signature 27 page that says “coming this November”, and the company calls it its fastest Android phone yet. It runs on Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chip and has a 200MP periscope zoom camera. Motorola hasn’t announced the exact India date or the price.
The phone launches globally on November 5, which Motorola announced on its X account, according to Digit. Some reports say India gets it the same day, but Motorola’s own India page only says November, so we’d treat any exact India date as unconfirmed until the brand announces it.
What Motorola has confirmed
These details come from Motorola’s India page and its official teasers, as reported by GSMArena, Beebom and My Mobile India:
| Motorola Signature 27 | |
|---|---|
| Chip | Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 |
| Cooling | ArcticMesh cooling with a 3D vapour chamber, 40% larger than before |
| Main camera | 50MP Sony LYTIA 910 |
| Zoom camera | 200MP periscope telephoto, up to 100x “Super Zoom Pro” (uses generative AI) |
| Audio | Tuned by Bang & Olufsen, a first for Motorola |
| Build | Aerospace-grade aluminium frame, glass-ceramic, “Tactical Weave” finish |
| Colours | Pantone Coal Smoke, Pantone Capulet Olive |
| Software | Android 17 with Hello UI, 7 years of OS updates |
Motorola first showed the phone at Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Summit in September, and its India marketing head confirmed the India launch at the India Mobile Congress earlier this month.
Expected specs (not confirmed)
Leaks and reports fill in the rest, but Motorola hasn’t confirmed any of these yet:
- Display: 6.8-inch 2K LTPO OLED, up to 165Hz, up to 6,200 nits peak brightness
- Memory: up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB UFS 4.1 storage
- Other cameras: a 50MP ultrawide and a 50MP front camera, alongside the confirmed 50MP main and 200MP zoom cameras
- Battery: about 6,000mAh
Charging speed, water resistance and weight haven’t leaked reliably yet. The current Motorola Signature has 90W wired and 50W wireless charging with IP68 and IP69 ratings, so we’d expect at least that.
Expected price in India
Motorola hasn’t said anything about price, and the estimates vary a lot:
- A tipster, citing Trakin Tech, claimed ₹70,000 to ₹80,000, though that post was later removed, according to Beebom.
- Digit says reports point to a price close to ₹1 lakh.
- A Portuguese retailer listed the 12GB + 512GB model at €1,594.90 (roughly ₹1.69 lakh), but India prices are usually much lower than European ones.
For context, the current Motorola Signature launched in India in January at ₹59,999 for 12GB + 256GB, going up to ₹69,999 for 16GB + 1TB. A Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chip, a 200MP zoom camera and Bang & Olufsen audio all suggest the Signature 27 will cost noticeably more. Our best guess is somewhere between ₹70,000 and ₹1 lakh, but treat that as a guess until Motorola announces it.
Signature 27 vs Motorola Signature: what’s changing
| Motorola Signature (Jan 2026) | Signature 27 (confirmed / expected) | |
|---|---|---|
| Chip | Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 | Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 |
| Display | 6.8-inch 1.5K LTPO AMOLED, 165Hz | 6.8-inch 2K LTPO OLED, 165Hz (expected) |
| Zoom camera | 50MP, 3x periscope | 200MP periscope, up to 100x AI zoom |
| Battery | 5,200mAh | about 6,000mAh (expected) |
| Audio | Standard stereo speakers | Bang & Olufsen tuning |
| Software | Android 16, 7 years of updates | Android 17, 7 years of updates |
| India price | From ₹59,999 | Not announced |
The biggest upgrades are the much faster chip, the 200MP zoom camera and, if the leaks are right, a sharper screen and a bigger battery.
Should you wait for it?
Wait if you want a top-end Android phone with a strong zoom camera and long software support, and your budget can stretch towards ₹80,000 or more. It’s only a few weeks away.
Don’t wait if your budget is around ₹60,000. The current Motorola Signature already has a 165Hz LTPO screen, IP68 and IP69 protection, 90W charging and seven years of updates, and it may get cheaper once the Signature 27 arrives.
We’ll update this page as soon as Motorola announces the India date, price and full specs.
