It’s a quiet week for phone launches in India. Only one new phone has a confirmed India launch date, the Infinix GT 50 Pro on October 27, and Apple’s “Pro and Tell” event follows a day later. Here’s what’s confirmed, plus three big flagships that are officially coming to India but don’t have a date yet.

This week at a glance

Date What’s launching Status
Tuesday, October 27 Infinix GT 50 Pro (gaming phone) India launch date confirmed by Infinix
Wednesday, October 28 Apple “Pro and Tell” event (Macs and iPads expected, no phones) Event confirmed by Apple; products not confirmed
No date yet iQOO 16, Xiaomi 18 Pro, Motorola Signature 27 India launch confirmed, date and price not announced

Prices for all of these are still unannounced, so be careful with “India price” claims you see on social media before launch day.

Infinix GT 50 Pro: October 27

Infinix has confirmed that the GT 50 Pro launches in India on Tuesday, October 27, and teasers show it will be sold on Flipkart. It’s a gaming phone with a visible liquid cooling system on the back, RGB light strips and pressure-sensitive shoulder triggers. It comes in two colours, Black Abyss and Red Blaze.

Apple’s “Pro and Tell” event: October 28

Apple has confirmed an event called “Pro and Tell” on Wednesday, October 28, at 10 AM Pacific time, which is 10:30 PM IST in India. Recent reports say it will be a hands-on session for invited journalists in Los Angeles rather than a normal keynote, and Apple hasn’t announced a public livestream.

No new iPhones are expected. Reports point to redesigned MacBook Pro models with OLED touchscreens, an updated iMac and a new iPad mini, but Apple hasn’t confirmed any products. India prices usually appear on Apple’s India website soon after an announcement. Our Apple event preview has the details.

These three flagships were confirmed for India at India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2026 in early October. None has a launch date or India price yet.

  • iQOO 16: iQOO India’s CEO, Nipun Marya, confirmed it’s coming to India. It launched in China on September 29 with a Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chip, an 8,400mAh battery and three 50MP rear cameras, starting at CNY 5,999 (about ₹86,000). Reports expect the India launch around December or early 2027, but iQOO hasn’t confirmed timing.
  • Xiaomi 18 Pro: Xiaomi confirmed the India launch on stage at Qualcomm’s Snapdragon event at IMC. The China model has a small 2.7-inch display on the back, two 200MP cameras (main and telephoto) tuned with Leica, and a 7,000mAh battery with 100W charging. Reports suggest it may arrive by the end of December.
  • Motorola Signature 27: Motorola’s India marketing head confirmed it at IMC. Reports say it uses a Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chip and a 200MP periscope telephoto camera, and Motorola promises seven years of Android updates. Some reports expect a November launch, but there’s no official date.

What about the OnePlus 16 and the vivo X500 series? Both have launched in China, and reports expect them in India soon, but neither brand has confirmed an India launch date yet.

Who should wait

If you’re about to buy a mid-range gaming phone, wait two days for the GT 50 Pro’s official price before you decide. If you’re spending ₹80,000 or more on a flagship, it’s worth knowing that three new ones are officially on the way, even if they’re weeks away.

Tip: Don’t pay a pre-booking amount just for a freebie until you’ve seen the final price. Check that the booking amount is refundable and adjusted against the price, and compare the launch price with rivals such as our best gaming phones under ₹30,000 picks.
