Under ₹5,000 you can now get an AMOLED screen, Bluetooth calling and a week or more of battery on almost any smartwatch. The real differences are built-in GPS, battery life and how well the companion app works. Here are four watches that are good value right now, and how to pick between them.
Quick comparison
| Watch | Price (Oct 2026) | Display | Battery (claimed) | Built-in GPS | Water rating |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Redmi Watch Move | around ₹2,000 | 1.85” AMOLED, 600 nits | Up to 14 days | No | IP68 |
| realme Watch S2 | around ₹3,300 | 1.43” AMOLED (round), 600 nits | Up to 20 days (14 typical) | No | IP68 |
| Redmi Watch 5 Lite | around ₹3,700 | 1.96” AMOLED, 600 nits | Up to 18 days | Yes, 5-system | 5ATM |
| CMF Watch Pro 2 | around ₹4,500 | 1.32” AMOLED (round), 620 nits | Up to 11 days | Yes | IP68 |
Prices are the lowest listed on major Indian stores in October 2026 and move often during sales, so check before you buy. Battery figures are the brands’ own claims, and real-world numbers drop if you use always-on display, calling or GPS a lot.
1. Redmi Watch Move: best under ₹2,500
The Redmi Watch Move launched in April 2025 at ₹1,999, and that is still roughly what it costs on Flipkart and Croma (Amazon lists it a little higher, around ₹2,200). For that money you get a 1.85-inch AMOLED screen with up to 600 nits of brightness and an always-on mode, Bluetooth calling, and a claimed battery life of up to 14 days.
It uses Xiaomi’s Mi Fitness app for heart rate, SpO2 and sleep tracking, and it’s rated IP68 for dust and water. The main thing missing is built-in GPS, so if you run outdoors and want an accurate route map, your phone has to come along.
Best for: first-time smartwatch buyers, students, and anyone who mainly wants notifications, calls and step counts without spending much.
2. realme Watch S2: best round watch for daily wear
If you’d like something that looks more like a regular watch, the realme Watch S2 has a round 1.43-inch AMOLED screen and a stainless steel body. It launched in mid-2024 at ₹4,999, but it now sells for around ₹3,300 on Flipkart, which makes it much better value.
realme claims up to 20 days of battery, or about 14 days in standard use. It has Bluetooth calling, IP68 protection, over 110 sports modes, and a ChatGPT-powered AI voice assistant, and it pairs with the realme Link app. Like the Redmi Watch Move, there’s no built-in GPS.
Best for: office use and anyone who prefers a classic round look with long battery life.
3. Redmi Watch 5 Lite: best overall under ₹5,000
The Redmi Watch 5 Lite gets the most right for the money. It has a big 1.96-inch AMOLED display at up to 600 nits, Bluetooth calling with dual-mic noise reduction, and a claimed battery life of up to 18 days in typical use (12 days with heavy use).
The big upgrade over cheaper watches is built-in GPS that works with five satellite systems, so you can track runs, walks and rides without carrying your phone. It also has 5ATM water resistance (good for swimming), over 160 sports modes, Alexa built in, and works with both Android and iPhone. It launched at ₹3,999 and is currently around ₹3,700 on Amazon.
Best for: most people. It’s the safest all-round pick in this budget, especially if you walk, run or cycle outdoors.
4. CMF Watch Pro 2: best design with GPS
Nothing’s sub-brand CMF makes one of the better-looking budget watches. The Watch Pro 2 has a round 1.32-inch AMOLED screen at 466 x 466 resolution and up to 620 nits, with always-on display support. It includes built-in GPS, Bluetooth calling, IP68 protection and up to 11 days of claimed battery life.
It’s currently around ₹4,500 on Flipkart, Croma and Myntra, so it’s the most expensive watch here. You pay a bit extra for the design and the CMF Watch app, which is cleaner than many budget apps. The screen is smaller than the Redmi Watch 5 Lite’s, which matters if you read a lot of messages on your wrist.
Best for: people who want a stylish round watch that can also track outdoor workouts accurately.
What to check before you buy
Built-in GPS or connected GPS. Many budget watches say “GPS” but mean connected GPS, which borrows your phone’s location. Only true built-in GPS tracks a run when your phone stays at home. Of the four here, only the Redmi Watch 5 Lite and CMF Watch Pro 2 have it.
AMOLED vs LCD. Almost every good watch under ₹5,000 now uses AMOLED, which looks sharper and is easier to read outdoors. Avoid LCD (often listed as TFT) models in this budget unless they are much cheaper.
Battery claims. Brands measure battery with light use. Turn on always-on display, take a few calls daily and use GPS, and a “14-day” watch may last about half of that.
Health readings are estimates. Heart rate, SpO2 and sleep data from budget watches are useful for spotting trends, not for medical decisions. None of these watches is a medical device.
The app matters. You’ll use the companion app every day, so make sure it supports your phone. All four watches here work with Android and iPhone, though iPhone users get fewer features (such as quick replies) on most budget watches.
Tip: Smartwatch prices in India drop sharply during big sales. If the watch you want is close to its launch price, check Amazon and Flipkart again during the next sale event, as discounts of ₹500–₹1,000 are common in this segment.
Which one should you buy?
- Tightest budget: Redmi Watch Move at around ₹2,000 covers the basics well.
- Classic look and long battery: realme Watch S2 at around ₹3,300.
- Best all-rounder: Redmi Watch 5 Lite at around ₹3,700, thanks to its large screen and built-in GPS.
- Style plus GPS: CMF Watch Pro 2 at around ₹4,500.
The bottom line
For most buyers, the Redmi Watch 5 Lite is the best smartwatch under ₹5,000 right now: a large AMOLED screen, built-in GPS, calling and long battery at well under the limit. If you only need notifications and calls, the Redmi Watch Move does the job for about half the price. Choose the realme Watch S2 for a round, classic look, or the CMF Watch Pro 2 if design matters and you still want GPS. Not sure whether you need a smartwatch at all?
