Apple 'Pro and Tell' Event on October 28: What to Expect and India Time
Apple has confirmed a 'Pro and Tell' event for October 28. Here's the India time and the touchscreen MacBook Pro, OLED iPad mini and M6 iMac it's expected to bring.
Apple has officially confirmed its next hardware event, called “Pro and Tell”, for Wednesday, October 28, 2026. The name points strongly at new MacBook Pro laptops. Reports also expect a new iPad mini and an updated iMac, which would make this one of Apple’s most important Mac launches in years.
Here’s what Apple has confirmed so far, what’s only reported, and when to watch from India.

What Apple is expected to launch
Everything below comes from reports by Apple-focused news sites and analysts. Apple has not confirmed any of these products yet.
1. Touchscreen OLED MacBook Pro (14-inch and 16-inch)
This is the headline product. Several outlets report that the new high-end MacBook Pro will be:
- Apple’s first laptop with an OLED display, which means deeper blacks and better contrast than the current mini-LED screens
- Apple’s first Mac with a touchscreen, a big change after years of Apple keeping touch to iPads
- Fitted with a Dynamic Island-style cutout instead of the current notch
- Somewhat lighter than current models, though recent reports suggest not to expect a dramatically thinner design
The chips are less certain. Some reports point to M5 Pro and M5 Max, while others suggest the newer M6 family. There are also rumours that Apple could use a new name, such as “MacBook Ultra”, for the top model. Treat both as unconfirmed.
2. Entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro with M6
The base 14-inch MacBook Pro is reportedly getting the M6 chip, with the same design as today’s model. This is likely to be the most affordable way into the new MacBook Pro line-up.
3. Redesigned iPad mini with OLED
The iPad mini is reportedly due for its biggest update in years:
- An OLED display, following the OLED iPad Pro and iPad Air
- A front camera moved to the long edge, so you’re centred in landscape video calls
- Upgraded speakers
- Some reports mention a new A-series chip
4. M6 iMac
The iMac is expected to keep its current design and colours, but move to the M6 chip for better speed and efficiency.
Possible surprises
At least one report also mentions a 14-inch iPad with an M6 chip. That’s less widely reported than the products above, so it’s the least certain item on this list.
What about India prices and availability?
Apple usually announces India prices on its India website the same night as a global launch, and pre-orders often open soon after. Since Apple hasn’t announced the products yet, no India prices are known. Be careful with “leaked India prices” shared on social media before the event, because they’re usually guesses.
Tip: Planning to buy a current MacBook Pro or iPad mini? Wait until after October 28. A new launch often brings discounts and exchange offers on older models, and you’ll know whether the new features are worth the extra money.
Should you wait?
- Wait if you were planning to buy a MacBook Pro, iMac or iPad mini in the next few months. The event is only days away.
- Don’t wait if you need a MacBook Air or a regular iPad right now. Those aren’t expected to change at this event.
- Consider waiting for reviews of the touchscreen MacBook Pro. A big first-generation change like touch and OLED can have early issues that only show up in real-world use.
The bottom line
Apple’s October 28 “Pro and Tell” event, at 10:30 PM IST, is expected to bring the biggest MacBook Pro redesign in years, with OLED and a touchscreen, plus an OLED iPad mini and an M6 iMac. Apple has confirmed only the event so far, so check back after the keynote, when we’ll cover the official India prices, specs and sale dates.
