Lava, the Indian smartphone brand, will raise the prices of its phones by up to ₹3,000 from November 15, 2026. The company says the increase covers its smartphone portfolio and blames the ongoing shortage of memory chips.
What Lava said
In its statement, reported by NewsBytes, Lava said that “in the current industry environment, ongoing memory shortages have necessitated a price revision of up to ₹3,000 across our smartphone portfolio”, effective November 15, 2026.
| Details | |
|---|---|
| Brand | Lava |
| Price increase | Up to ₹3,000 per phone |
| Which phones | Across its smartphone portfolio (exact model list not yet published) |
| From | November 15, 2026 |
| Reason given | Memory (RAM and storage) chip shortages |
Lava hasn’t published a model-by-model list of new prices yet. Aaj Tak, which also reported the hike, says budget and mid-range phones will be affected and names the Lava Virat Curve 5G among the phones that will get costlier. “Up to ₹3,000” means that’s the maximum: many models are likely to go up by less.
Why phones keep getting more expensive
Lava isn’t alone. Memory chips have become much more expensive this year as chipmakers put more of their production into AI data centres, and phone brands are passing the cost on. Ai+ announced a price hike of up to ₹3,000 on select Pulse 2 and Nova 2 phones from the same date, November 15, and several bigger brands have raised prices in India over the past few months.
Budget phones feel this the most, because memory makes up a bigger share of their cost than it does on a ₹60,000 flagship.
Should you buy a Lava phone now?
Buy before November 15 if you’ve already picked a Lava phone and it’s within your budget today. Even a ₹1,000 to ₹2,000 increase is a big jump on a ₹10,000 to ₹15,000 phone, and festive sale discounts are still running on some models.
Don’t rush if you haven’t decided yet. Compare the Lava model with rivals in the same price range first, because other brands’ prices are moving too, and a rushed buy can cost more than the hike itself.
Tip: Note today’s price of the phone you want on Amazon or Flipkart, or take a screenshot. If it goes up after November 15, you’ll know exactly how much you saved or lost, and you can compare it fairly with other phones.
We’ll update this post when Lava shares the new price list.

The bottom line
Lava will raise prices across its smartphone range by up to ₹3,000 from November 15, 2026, because of memory chip shortages. The exact new prices aren’t out yet. If you’ve already chosen a Lava phone, buying before the 15th will likely save you money. If you’re still deciding, compare it with other phones in the same budget first.
