Apple has launched a new Apple TV 4K, the fourth generation of its streaming box, with a faster A19 chip, hands-free Siri with Apple Intelligence and a remote you can find with your iPhone. In India it costs ₹39,900, which makes it far more expensive than before. Here’s what’s new and who it actually makes sense for.

Price and availability

Market Price Configuration
India ₹39,900 128GB, Wi-Fi 7 + Gigabit Ethernet
US $299 128GB, Wi-Fi 7 + Gigabit Ethernet
  • Announced: October 13, 2026
  • In stores: from November 13, 2026
  • Where to buy in India: pre-orders on Apple’s India online store

There’s only one configuration this time, with 128GB of storage and an Ethernet port.

Why the big price jump?

For context, the previous Apple TV 4K launched in India at ₹14,900 (Wi-Fi, 64GB) and ₹16,900 (Wi-Fi + Ethernet, 128GB). Apple raised those prices to ₹25,900 and ₹31,900 in mid-2026, which reports linked to rising memory and storage costs. The new model at ₹39,900 is more than double the original launch price of the older box.

Hands-free Siri. You can now talk to the Apple TV without picking up the remote, thanks to three far-field microphones. The new Siri, powered by Apple Intelligence, is launching in beta and supports English in India. For requests that use your personal information, you need a paired iPhone or iPad that supports Apple Intelligence.

A faster chip. The A19 replaces the A15 Bionic in the previous model. That mostly means smoother menus, quicker app loading and more headroom for Apple Arcade games and future updates.

A remote you won’t lose. The Siri Remote now works with Apple’s Find My app, can play a sound, and supports Precision Finding with recent iPhones, so it’s easy to find in the sofa.

Smart home hub. With Thread and local HomeKit Secure Video processing, it can act as the home hub for Apple Home accessories, and compatible doorbells can show alerts on your TV.

Who should consider it

The new Apple TV 4K makes sense if you already live in Apple’s world: you use an iPhone, watch Apple TV+, use AirPlay and FaceTime on the big screen, or want a hub for HomeKit devices. For those buyers, hands-free Siri, Find My for the remote and four-speaker HomePod surround are real upgrades.

For most people in India, though, ₹39,900 is a lot for a streaming box. If your TV is already a smart TV, its built-in apps (Netflix, Prime Video, YouTube and others) may be all you need. Streaming sticks from Amazon and Google cost a fraction of the price and handle the same apps well.

Tip: If you already own an Apple TV 4K (2nd generation or later), you don’t need to upgrade to get the new Siri. Apple is bringing it to those models too with tvOS 27.2, which is in beta now. Upgrade only if you want hands-free voice, the faster chip or four-speaker HomePod surround.

The bottom line

The 2026 Apple TV 4K is a genuine upgrade, with a much faster A19 chip, hands-free Siri with Apple Intelligence, Wi-Fi 7 and a findable remote. At ₹39,900 in India, it’s a premium product for people deep in Apple’s ecosystem. Everyone else can get the same streaming apps for far less from their smart TV or a cheaper streaming stick.
